Papa's Camping Trip Report

Last weekend daddy went camping with Tio Ashish!
They left early Friday morning to Ventura where they caught the ferry over to Santa Cruz Island.
They set up camp and hiked around until sunset.
They had taken all their camping stuff with them---DINNER, SNACKS, WATER, TENT, CLOTHES, SLEEPING BAGS---all in their hiking bags which they lugged over 14 miles of trails from one part of Santa Cruz Island, Scorpion, to the other, Prisoners.

Here is a video of that they took only about 1hr and 1/2 into the trip.

The 14 mile hike on Saturday took them 5 hours and 46 minutes.

They ended their hike with a quick shower before heading over to the mainland on the ferry, that they almost missed since they were "showering".
Neither Ashish nor Peter will write about it nor give me more details but from the few pictures they brought home, I can imagine how beautiful it must have been. They did tell me that the 14 miles did seem a lot longer when you had to go UP and DOWN little hills and "canyons". They also told of a scary hour they had...when they accidentally stubbled upon a bird's nest and had an angry momma bird circling up over them for a LONG TIME. I guess she couldn't decided what to do with them...hahaha. Maybe she realized that Peter was a daddy and that he wouldn't hurt her babies! I bet hearing the wind, the waves crashing and nothing but nature's whispering, and their own breathing while walking must have been a nice change...especially for Peter since quiet moments in our life are FEW AND FAR BETWEEN!

Peter and Ashish had a great time on their adventure...In the meantime, Mommy, Tia, and Nico went touring around HOLLYWOOD and visited Paradise Cove in Malibu!
Enjoy the amazing slide show of pictures:

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Be kinder than necessary, everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

When you help someone up a hill, you get that much closer to the top yourself.
