Christmas in Tayrona

Santa surprised us with a Trip to Tayrona, Colombian National Park.

It was a breathtaking trip! We  First stopped by to see la abuelita chava in Bogota...
Before we embarked on our adventure to Cabo San Juan. Nico Loved the fact we got on the tarmac and got to drive around the airport before getting on our plane!
Nico did homework on the flight! He wrote a Thank you to Santa for the AWESOMEEEEE surprise!

The first night we landed in Santa Marta, we stayed at a hotel on right on the the beach by EL RODADERO. It was a breath-taking sunset! Definitely the best way to celebrate my 30th birthday!

The next day we headed into Tayrona National Park.

The campsite was just what I wanted: People from around the world, bathrooms, beautiful views, & delicious restaurant!
One of the days at the National Park we hiked with a family to a little village about 1 hour away from our campsite. Nico was a trooper! Hiked his little legs right over to the little community.

We signed our names into the visitor log! Nico 5, Mama 30, Abuelo 63!
The other days we were in Tayrona, we just explored, soaked in the sun, made new friends, and spent time together!

After leaving Tayrona National Park, we went to Buritaca for 2 nights. There is a river that flows from La Sierra Nevasa in Santa Marta, straight into the ocean.

We kayaked on the river that flows from the Sierra Nevada to the ocean. It was so beautiful and peaceful!

Then we played on the beach, walked along the shore for a few miles seeing the most spectacular farms (to me). Their cattle walked almost right up to the ocean! Can you imagine living on farm that had ocean views?!?

When it was time to leave, we took a jeep back to Santa Marta! What better way to leave? If you know anything about me, you know how much I love jeeps!

Tayrona was one of the most peaceful & adventure filled trips I've taken with Nico and my dad.
I know he may not remember going to Tayrona, but when he grows up and looks back on all these pictures, I hope he sees how special it was. Somewhere deep inside his little heart, the memories of this trip are ingrained.

I look forward to always adventuring with you mi rey! TE AMO!!!
Happy New Year everyone! May 2016 be filled with Love, Laughter, Health, and many unforgettable adventures!
