We are back in Austin!!
Our flight got delayed on Saturday but we finally made it home! We were so excited to see daddy at the Airport! It felt like we had been away for forever!

On Sunday we went to a little town about 45 miles away from Austin, Lockhart, to eat BBQ. Peter and two friends biked back to Austin from there while Nico and I drove on the country roads and looks at cows and horses.

Yesterday was a great start to the week! Nico and I met up with ourMommy and baby friends for lunch and a walk in the park. Both Dylan and Miles are soooo big!
The excitement didn't end there my friends, MOMMY WENT TO WORK! I am teaching a Spanish class 2x a week for the next 8 weeks at Berlitz in the evening! The class went great.

Today we went to volunteer at Urban Roots with Peter and Ashish. Peter and I took turns working and holding Nico. We picked lettuce, onions, and radishes. We then cleaned and packaged them to be sold on Saturday at the farmer's market in downtown.
Urban Roots is a youth development program that uses sustainable agriculture as a means to effect lasting change for youth participants and nourishes East Austin residents who have limited access to healthy foods.
Nico and I felt like we were back in Panama! and we were Matching!!!!!!!!

We are back in Austin with plenty of things to do.

From Miami

We have been in Miami for more than a week and I have not posted or written any articles for the examiner. In theory, I should have more time to myself here but it's been pretty hectic. When you're traveling with a celebrity it's not that easy to capture "down-time" and do something productive.

Visitors from near and far have come to see Nico. At first, seeing all the new faces startled Nico and brought him to tears. Slowly he's been adjusting, however not without consequence. He has a little cold now. Though i've tried to remind people to wash their hands, I wasn't able to protect him from catching his first cold. Peter says that he's getting stronger, and it's true, but the problem is that people who want to hold him somtimes don't realize that he is still really little and that they need to be careful. In the end, I'm the one that has to stay up all night when he is coughing, fussy, and crying.

Because we live in Austin and I'm used to being with him all day, it has also been hard to be seperated from him. Even though people feel they are helping by holding him while I eat or do things, they don't realize that taking him away from my sight doesn't help. What helps is when someone holds him, but near by so I can see. It's not that I don't trust other people, I just like having him nearby and I feel that Nico gets less aggitated as well. We are learning to be apart from eachother little bits at a time, but at our own rate, we can't be rushed, or pulled away from eachother.

Some important milestones in Nico's life have also taken place in the last couple days.

He got his first cold...coughing,runny nose and all. We didn't take pictures of his little buggers but we got a picture with our doctor neighbors who came over to check him out to make sure he was okay.

And He rolled over completely for the first time but has not done it since, so I am waiting patiently to get it on camera!

Quotes to Live by:

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Be kinder than necessary, everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

When you help someone up a hill, you get that much closer to the top yourself.
