The past 730 days...

2 Years ago today Nico and I arrived in Miami. It's crazy to think that 2 years is actually the longest I have lived in one city in the past 6 years.( The Breakdown: Panama- 4 month/ Austin- 1 year and 3 months/Los Angeles- 1 year and 4 months)

One of the reasons I love keeping this blog is that I get to look back of all the amazing things that have happened our lives, see pictures, read what I was thinking, and reflect on the present.
Here is the last post I wrote before moving to Miami: Saying Good-Bye to LA

As I read through it today, it took me back through some special memories of friends that we made, experiences we lived, and chapters that have now closed.
We landed in Ft. Lauderdale on the Red-eye from LA 2 years ago today...4 suitcases, a tot in tow, and a whole bunch of baggage, and (what I thought) a spoonful of resilience.

Turns out that a spoonful is oftentimes all you need to START ALL OVER. The definition of reliance that I posted, resonated with me. It truly is the ability to recover from or adjust to change. It is the capability of a strained body to recover it's size and shape. Over the last 730 days, that resliance seems to have replicated on it's own, with every adjustment, with every change, with every lesson learned, with every frown turned upside down.

In the Past 2 years here in Miami....

We have made new friends, and rekindled old friendships:

We have moved & moved again....

We have logged miles & miles...

We've had some 15 seconds of fame...
On the Show UN NUEVO DIA talking about my book, and how technology is bridging generation gaps.

And thanks to our very talented friend Janelle, we snuck into a commercial for Miami Subs =)

We have traveled to Magical Kingdoms
(near- Disney and not-so-near- Austin and Colombia)

We've celebrated a lot of holidays...

And we've explored and adventured...

2 years ago I hoped that one day God would let me know why  I needed to experience some of the things that I was living through--- and perhaps needed to learn. Now here we are, a couple lessons under our belt, grateful for the opportunities for growth that life has set before us as we have kept smiling, adjusting, and changing. There is still a lot to learn, there are still many unanswered questions. But now I have come to terms that happiness isn't found in having the answers...but in searching for them. Happiness doesn't lie in the arms of someone else but in lending a hand, and happiness is more abundant, the more it's shared.

As I Instagramed today:
It's not always easy to celebrate what is right in the world, being that perception controls our reality and sometimes that perception may be formed by our negative experiences...but if we believe it, we may be able to sooner or later see it; We may have to water that vision, give it a little sun, and let nature take its course! In the end, we don't have to be the best in the world, we just have to do our best FOR the world.

Here's to the adventures that life will bring us next!

Happy 2 year Anniversary (of being in Miami)

Quotes to Live by:

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Be kinder than necessary, everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

When you help someone up a hill, you get that much closer to the top yourself.
