Miami Seaquarium Adventure

Sometimes I miss our quite days when Nico and Momma would go on little adventures...so we snuck away yesterday and had a great time!

We went to one of my childhood's favorite places to go: THE MIAMI SEAQUARIUM! It was my disney because it was and still is a magical experience...one that combined 2 of my favorite things in the whole world... the ocean and animals (if there were horses there, it would be my heaven!) Initially I had gone to check in on my job application, but once I was there, I couldn't just turn around and come home...so we went in!
We got to see how the dolphin tank was cleaned =) and the diver even HIGH FIVED Nico from Inside the tank!
From the second we walked in...Nico was OOOOing and AAHHHHHing! I loved it! and I loved that I still was awed by the same creatures that captured my heart SO MANY years ago.
We had lots of Sea Lions behind out apartment in LA. As soon as Nico saw the "foca" he ran toward it and said....NICO CASA! FOCA!!! Nico Casa!!! FOCA!!! It was so cute!

Watching the whale and dolphin show!

Nico found NEMO!!!
My favorite was watching Nico's expression when LOLITA the whale SPLASHED EVERYONE in the stands at one of the presentations!

After the aquarium we hung out at the beach for a little and than Nico and I ran the Key Biscayne bridge a couple times and came home! I couldn't have asked for a better day with my buggarhead....BUT IT DID GET BETTER! Nico went to bed "early" without a struggle!!!!

Will Rodgers Park- Saturday Run!

This weekend we ran at Will Rodgers State Park...It was BEAUTIFUL! To think that we were just miles from our apt...but what seem like a WORLD AWAY!

Check out the VIEW from up here!

The uphill running while pushing a 30lb toddler was NO JOKE...but Peter and I took turns and DID IT!

What can I say?..Adventures are all around us. We sometimes have to look up from life's regular activities and step out into the amazing world at our finger tips, breathe in the fresh air, and give thanks for the LIFE WE GET TO LIVE!!

NEW GARDEN- on the Balcony

Nico and Papa planted some LETTUCE and CILANTRO plants in our RE-juvinated balcony Planter. These pictures explain the whole process...no need to add anything extra!

How cute are my little urban farmers!!!!

We used our OWN COMPOST to plant our next project---being GREEN starts at HOME!!
First- put the rocks in

Then mix the compost with the soil and pour into planter:
Start placing plants in planter:

Gather the loose compost/soil and place it on top of plants and around (preferably)
VUALA, our new planter!

CLEAN UP!

 ....and finally:
ALL DONE!!!

Mia's Baptism

Nice got to attend his first BAPTISM PARTY! His friend Mia celebrated her Baptism with all her friends and cousins at the Club house in our Complex. Nico and Peter MATCHED with their GUAYABERAS while momma wore her NEW DRESS and NEW SHOES!!

Momma and her New shoes + Dress!

Nico looked adorable! And Mia looked like a porcelain doll!

The food was amazing!!! Hand-made tacos with rice, beans, and other toppings that were scrumptiously mouth watering.
I loved hanging out with my Mom friends...all dressed up!
Nico and Papa practiced their piano skills....maybe one day the two can form their own 2 man piano group! I'd pay big bucks just to SEE these two perform!

 They were very FOCUSED!

Brenda, Mia's mom, surprised everyone when MARIACHI's came in to surprise all the guests! They played for a couple hours and made the afternoon UNFORGETTABLE!

Nico really liked hanging out ON-STAGE front and center!

Congratulations Brenda, Robert, and Mia!! It was a beautiful event.....Glad we could be a part of the celebration!!!

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Be kinder than necessary, everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

When you help someone up a hill, you get that much closer to the top yourself.
