WEEKEND FUN

Friday evening we gave Nico a bath, put him in his PJs and got in the car...YES we went out! Lol, we went out to Charlie's house and had DINNER and WATCHED a movie: The Social Network. It was a great evening!!! Peter's plan worked wonderfully and Charlie was quite the chef!

Saturday we woke up to beautiful scenes from Key Largo Florida where Peter's parents were doing some wedding reception research for us. Via Skype we toured a lovely place that we think might be the LUCKY SPOT! More info to come...stay tuned!

Afterwards we went for a 20 mile bike ride along the Pacific Ocean...toward Manhattan Beach. It was beautiful. There were parts of the trail that we had big rocks lining the bike path, and just beyond those boulders was cliff and waves crashing...INCREDIBLE.
We stopped at our halfway point to eat some lunch...and little burger/smoothie joint...on the SAND. We hung out with Nico, Walked with him to the water, crawled around with him...and then headed back.

When we got back, Peter and Charlie went SURFING and Nico and Mommy hung out and walked in the hallway. I made a warm shepherd's Pie for the 2 FROZEN surfer dudes, who claimed that their outing went better than before (but they didn't look any better than the other times they've come home from surfing). Peter put on his snow jacket, warmups, socks, and gloves--and admitted that he needed to get a thicker WET SUIT.

Sunday:
Yesterday, We went to Mass and then went to a Sports Bar in Hollywood to watch the Heat Game and then the LAKERS game. At mass, the Monsignor said that he is guilty of being TOO CRITICAL of people. And I must admit that I AM TOO. Peter and I were talking about the fact that we try to hold ourselves to a higher standard and therefore as a result hold those around us to a higher standard as well. When we or those around us don't live up to that, then we are let down, disillusioned, and critical.

By criticizing those around us, we are technically criticizing God's creation. My intention is not to sound all religious with this, I just want to bring up the point that the Church, and other religious entities present as well, that somehow we all FORGET: NOT BE SO MEAN TO EACH OTHER.

The basketball games were a lot of fun. We got to hang out with a High School friend (Belen) who lives out here, Chris Guites. He got to meet Peter and Nico and got to hear the WHOLE STORY. Nico walked around saying hi to all the tables, went up and down the stairs and even took 3 steps by himself. Everyone around me thought I was nuts cause I got so excited when he did it. Peter wasn't watching the game and missed it!

Nico and I both fell asleep in the car on the way home and we kind of just hung out at the house the rest of the evening.

Just another weekend in Southern Cali.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Be kinder than necessary, everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

When you help someone up a hill, you get that much closer to the top yourself.
